Arc LSH-P

First Impressions:   One word… WOW!  This light is simple amazing.  Every aspect of this light is absolutely first class.  I purchased this light to use as a EDC (Every Day Carrier).  Its very small size, and light weight, make it perfect for this.  It produces a surprising amount of light for its size.  I knew I would be happy with it 5 minutes after I got it.

Fit and Finish:   Everything from ARC is VERY well made.  The fit and finish on this light is Superb.  No sharp or rough edges what so ever.  The battery packs screw on very smoothly, and seals against the o-ring tightly.  Arc has some of the best looking, hardest Anodizing in the business.  Arc will not sell a light that has HA that is uneven or doesn’t match in color.  Some of the battery pack accessories you buy for the light afterwards may have a slightly different color HA.

Light Output:   Light output for size, is very high.  This light will actually out perform a 2D Maglight!  The light is VERY white. This is because ARC hand selects their LED’s for maximum whiteness and brightness.  My LS is a LSH-P   H= High Dome LED. Meaning it is a focused beam of light.  A Low Dome version is available, which has a wide flooding beam of light.  P= Premium, this means the LED is the very best ARC had to offer. Usually whiter and brighter than the standard models.

Runtime:   ARC documents the runtime at about 2 hours on one 123 cells battery.  With intermediate use, you can get way over that.  Even more with the optional 2AA battery Pack.

Functionality:   The light has alot of functionality, due to all the optional battery packs.  The light comes from the factory with a 123 clickie pack.  I carry mine with the optional 123 twistie pack, which makes the light over 3/4 inch shorter.  Great for EDC.  With this pack, you turn the light on by twisting the battery pack down tight on the light.  For longer runtimes, when camping, hiking, etc. I use the optional 2AA twistie tail pack.  With nimh’s your can get alot more runtime of of the light, without using up expensive 123 cell batteries.  A 2AA clickie pack is also available.

Water Resistance:   ARC rates the light at 50 feet.  But I have heard from many people that it can handle much more.

Size & Weight:   The LS is alittle under 3.5 inches with the 123 clickie pack.  About 2.5 inches with the 123 twistie pack.  About 5 inches with the 2AA twistie pack.  It weighs about the same as 2 AA batteries.

Pros:   Very small. Perfect for EDC.  Excellent Quality.  Excellent light output.  Excellent customer service.  Very functional, due to the optional battery packs.

Cons:   Rather high price:  $125 for the best version.  But, you get what you pay for.

Conclusion:   I could not be happier with this light.  If you want a very well made, reliable, bright, small, light weight light for EDC… this is as good as it gets.
